KAI communications campaign

The Lagos State Government has been aware for some time that many people are disregarding the rules and regulations in place for road users and the environment. some pedestrians no longer use the overhead bridge build for them to cross the road, motorcyclists now use the Overhead bridge built for pedestrians and people living with disabilities to avoid the regular road traffic, while the government is working so hard everyday to keep the environment clean, some dump their waste and refuse on the roadside, polluting the environment, some defaulters remove and destroys the road infrastructures set in place by the government.

We aim to create an awareness campaign to warn defaulters to desist from such activities and to inform them that the government will be vigilant in monitoring defaulters and will punish anyone who attempts to break the law.

The Solution

I created a 2D Animation video using royalty-free and Creative Commons 2D vectors from Freepik, based on a provided script, voice-over, and brand color to follow. The Idea is to design a 2D animation video that can be used over various voice-over languages like English, Pidgin, Yoruba, Hausa, and Ibo to reach a wider and more diverse audience across the state.

The Process

I used the voice-over as a guide to create a storyboard sheet that lays out how each scene is going to look in the outcome, before proceeding with editing the high-fidelity vector illustration asset to align with the storyboard in Adobe Illustrator, then the final animation in Adobe After Effects, and making minor adjustments.

Results

There were reports of a significant reduction of defaulters after several broadcasts on television and screens on major streets, especially areas where these issues a usually rampant.
